The Free Rare Chick?

There is a close up of the Free Rare Chick. We know that he is a feathered footed Bantam but we don't exaclty know which one. There are several of them. Check out www.mcmurrayhatchery.com if you want to look for yourself.

Chicks in the brooder. This one with the wobbley legs was doing better on Monday night.

The Rare Chick is named Bob

The Rare Chick is named Bob. It will probably grow up to be a Rooster so that is just as well.

Aunt Sherrie loves the chicks

Aunt Sherrie came by to see the chicks. We expect many more visitors. She helped a sickly looking chick find the water and before she left that chick was up and running around. 

Glad to see they are chowing down!

I was glad to see that they were already eating before I had to leave for work. 

Barred Plymouth Rocks

The black and white ones are Barred Plymouth Rocks. 

Red Stars and a Mystery chick

The yellow ones are Red Stars. The chick with the furry feet is the mystery chick that they send with the order. We hope it is a girl.

The post office called at 6:10 AM. We picked them up and rushed them to their new home.

Homemade Brooder

This brooder is 2' by 4'. Two small waters, a food tray and a 250 watt infrared heat lamp. I just need to get the wireless video monitor set up.
